Tree removal

5.0 53 Google reviews

Most of the trees we take down are in places with no room to drop them. We rig and remove them in sections instead.

When removal is the right call

A tree that is dead or dying, showing structural failure, leaning over a structure, or lifting foundations and hardscape with its roots. If it can be saved with pruning instead, we will tell you that — it is cheaper for you and better for the tree.

How we work on tight lots

Marin properties rarely have a clear drop zone. We climb, rig, and lower the tree in sections, controlling every piece on the way down. That keeps the work away from your roof, fence, and neighbors.

What is included

Cleanup is always included. We chip the brush on site and rake the ground before we leave. The wood itself is part of what we price against — a large redwood is a different job from a medium lemon tree, and how much wood there is to move changes the quote. That is one of the reasons we look at the tree before giving you a number instead of guessing over the phone.

The stump

Removal leaves a stump behind. Grinding it out is a separate service and we can do both in the same visit — just say so when you book.

What customers said

Jorge and his team were fast, punctual, courteous, and clean. He arrived to provide an estimate exactly when he said and also showed up on time with his crew for the day of the job. His team came in and completed the tree and stump removal extremely quickly and cleaned up the work area as well as other parts of the house. Jorge even offered to provide extra services under the initially estimated price. 10/10 will work with him again.

Really good value, responsible, professional. We had a couple different crews work on our trees over the years they were the best!

Questions

About tree removal

Are estimates really free?

Yes. We come out, look at the tree, and give you a written price. There is no charge and no obligation to book.

What about the wood itself?

How much wood there is factors into the quote — a large redwood is a very different job from a medium lemon tree. That is one of the reasons we look at the tree in person instead of pricing it over the phone.

How deep do you grind a stump?

Deep enough to replant. There is no single number worth quoting, because a bigger trunk sits on a bigger root plate. We set the depth to the tree and tell you what it will be when we quote.

Is cleanup included?

Always. We chip the brush on site, rake the ground, and haul the debris off. It is part of the job, not an add-on.

Do you handle the permit?

Yes. Some Marin towns require a permit for protected or heritage trees. We can handle that side of it — tell us when we come out and we will let you know whether your tree needs one.
